Effects of TV Viewing on Family

Love disolves anxiety and depression

TV watching and disorders

TV viewing can be a social event if it does not encourage you and your family to be brain dead. Some people, some families spend hours watching TV with zero communication, sometimes in separate rooms. Their whole life is structured around TV. These families have a need for the TV to be on all throughout the day. From the moment they get up they switch it on, and they only switch it off when they go to bed. These people do not know what they are watching. They have a need for something to hypnotize them. They have lost orientation in life. TV can prevent families from being present in life and even present with each other. Instead they spend their time in a continuous virtual dream world. They do little else but watch TV.

However TV watching can lead to topics of discussion in the family about all aspects of culture and what is going on in the world, or about funny subjects. It can be a good way of relaxing together. There are some good comedies that can make you laugh. TV is not a bad thing in moderation. But people can become addicted to TV and it can have some negative effects.

One of the secrets for overcoming anxiety disorders and depression is to reduce and eliminate negative content in your life. It means focussing on positive things. Because you absorb the energy of what you focus on. I am always thinking about my spiritual process, about love, or thinking on divine souls such as Swami, Jesus and Baba. Reading positive books and materials is always good, and surrounding yourself with loving people, or having a Loving parter to share your time and energy with- with lots of Love and high energy. With lots of Love and high energy, low negative and dense energy can not survive. It has to change or go. When you turn on the light darkness has to disappear. Enjoy good TV moderately with your family, but do not become addicted to it and let it become a disorder for you. Have fun and enjoy Love and life. It is good to give children their own television if they want one, otherwise you are restricting their freedom. They should be able to watch TV in their room if they want to. As a family it is also okay to watch TV, but not overdo it. Music and playing music is a good resplacement for TV.
