The Sweetness of a Divine Soul such as Jesus Christ or Shirdi Sai Baba

Understanding the avadute love guru personality
Avoid any missunderstandings, distorted perception, confusion, problems and illusions

You have to be very prepared before approaching a divine soul, especially at the level of Jesus Christ or Shirdi Sai Baba. An "avadute" is someone who operates outside the realms of normal behavior, someone who is one with the elements but at the same time beyond the elements. This is someone who is connected to intense energy, someone who IS intense energy, intense Love. A person who is but God decending into a human being.

An avadute can often be misunderstood and appear to come across as intense, unpredictable, confusing, difficult, belittling, egotistic, stormy or angry. He may appear to cause a lot of struggle, ups and downs and confusions in your life, and coming in contact with someone like this WILL most certainly make your life more difficult and tormenting.

The avadute is like the sun, if you go near him you may burn. You have to grind and adjust to His intense energy. Problems and illusions may be the result of your own karma, as in the analogy of throwing a rock at the sun. If you do so you will burn. The avadute is never concerned with making your life easier, only that you become One with Him and of benefit for others. You can see this in the life of Shirdi Sai Baba and Jesus Christ. If any person has a relationship with Baba, even just having his statue or picture in your house- you may know the meaning of avadute, problems and illusions. You may feel like running away sometimes.

If you look and feel more closely then you may perceive the unbelievable Love behind the avadute, his crazy actions and behavior. There is unbelievable sweetness there that you have to fall in Love with. When you experience that bliss and sweetness your so called problems no longer matter anymore. The craziness and problems that follow are only a source of fun and adventure, that ultimately serve to make you strong and happy, and a source of Love and strength for others- and to bring you home to God.

The best way to handle the avadute is just to recognise the beautiful Love and sweetness there and ultimately surrender and accept His guidance, advice, healing and protection. There is only Love there. If you fail to see the Love then your perception may be distorted You are very lucky to have a connection with a divine soul. It can be a very special relationship like husband and wife, mother and child, father and child or best friend.

Our problems are only problems in the mind. Problems make us grow and are challenges. You can Love challenges and solving problems, being strong and a source of Love. Problems can be annoying but they serve to make you grow strong and ultimately fulfilled. How would you grow and learn without problems?

Look at the relationship between Paramahamsa Yogananda and his strict Guru, Sri Yukestwar. Sri Yukeswar was a very strict, difficult and challenging Guru. However Yogananda loved this. This type of behaviour was his favourite quality in his guru. His attitude was something like, "make me successful, do whatever you want, be very strict!". There was huge Love, understanding and surrender.

Swami Sri Kaleshwar describes this process in the analogy of chiselling a statute. The statute may cry out, "why are you chiselling me?" But when the statute is done it is magnificent, and many people are coming with flowers and throwing garlands. The master/student relationships can not work unless you recognise the Love and sweetness of the Guru. Both parties need to be pulling on the same string and then there can be huge success.
